Making international conversations accessible to everyone
As the closing event of the Strengthening Civil Society (2021–2025) programme, the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs organised an international webinar. During the event, partners from various countries came together to share insights, experiences and results in the field of social development.
With participants from different regions and backgrounds, it was essential that everyone could follow the conversation and actively participate. That is why Attached was asked to provide interpreting services for this international event.
Our approach
Attached provided interpreting services for the webinar, in close collaboration with Teletrain, which was responsible for the technical hosting of the event.
To ensure the event ran smoothly, we:
• provided experienced interpreters for the live session
• organised a technical dry run prior to the event
• thoroughly briefed the interpreters with relevant materials and context
• ensured effective coordination between all parties involved
Interpreting was provided in French and Arabic, enabling participants from different regions to follow the webinar and actively participate in the discussions.
The impact
Thanks to the interpreters, participants were not only able to follow the conversation, but also actively contribute to it.
Initiatives shared during the webinar included:
• safe spaces where young women can come together and make their voices heard
• projects focused on climate action and inclusion within local communities
• discussions about youth leadership and new forms of politics
• collaboration between civil society organisations around the world
The interpreting made these stories and insights accessible to a broader international audience. This created genuine engagement and enabled participants from different countries to connect and exchange ideas.
Why Attached?
At Attached, we believe that language is about more than communication. It is the key to participation.
For this project, that meant:
making an impact by genuinely connecting people through language.
Our combination of experienced interpreters, thorough preparation and close collaboration with the technical partner ensured a smooth and successful event.
